Alejandra Laszlo Capshew

Alex Capshew is Associate Director of the Indiana Consortium for Mental Health Services Research where she manages a variety of operational and research functions including grant proposal development and coordination, account budgeting and forecasting, research project management and compliance, and strategic planning. As an academic specialist, she provides support to the IUNI Directors on an ad hoc basis for special projects. She received a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.A. in History & Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania where she was a PhD candidate before leaving academe to work in the banking industry. At IU, she worked as a Project Manager in Sociology and as Coordinator of the Women in Science Program in the Office for Women’s Affairs before joining ICMHSR in 2000.

She currently serves as chief of staff role at the Irsay Institute, advising the director(s) on strategic planning, overseeing day-to-day operational and organizational initiatives, and managing high-priority special projects and programs.
