Principal Investigators: Liana Apostolova (IU School of Medicine), Brea Perry (IUB Sociology), Andrew Saykin (IU School of Medicine)
Leveraging Neuroimaging Biomarkers to Understand the Role of Social Networks in Alzheimer's Disease, or SNAD, is an ongoing NIH (NIA) award. This research examines social and biological mechanisms underlying relationships between personal social networks and patterns of neurodegeneration in preclinical and early stages of Alzheimer’s disease using neuroimaging biomarkers.
This project came about because of collaboration between IUNI Advisory Council members Perry, Saykin, and Apostolova.
