Learn to spot fake news and hoaxes

The news literacy game places users in a simulated social media environment where they can share, "like", or fact-check articles. Once users complete the game, they are given feedback on their score, earning points if they share stories from legitimate new sources, or if they fact-check articles from false or misleading reports or other types of misinformation.
Fakey is one of many tools in Indiana University's Observatory on Social Media (OSoMe). Development was led by former IU Informatics master's student Mihai Avhram, now of U Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
